Default 225 -245 for the backs???

hey everyone, my girlfriend owns a 04 crossfire. she has a few nails in the rear tires and needs to get them replaced. she doesnt have a very big budget, so i was wondering if your able to put 225 or 245/35/19s on the rear instead of the 255s?

one other question. do you have to take the tires any were speical to get them mounted or just any tire shop?

thanks
charles

Some tire shops might not be able to accomodate a 19" wheel, but most will. As for the skinnier tires I would suggest against it, but 245 is probably the smallest you would want to get away with.

I am getting new tires next week.
My old ones are the original Continental all weather tires.
They have plenty of tread remaining (my XFire has 13K miles on it).
One of the rears did get a nail in it that has been patched/plugged.
