Limited wheels on SRT with Goodyear F1 All Seasons
Limited wheels on SRT with Goodyear F1 All Seasons
I bought a set of Limited wheels off of eBay last spring and mounted Goodyear F1 All Seasons (from Tire Rack) on them and this weekend mounted them on my SRT-6 (for winter). Early thoughts and impressions:
1) Centercaps from SRT wheels don't fit limited wheels (see Pics).
2) I like the non-SRT wheels alot - maybe even better....
3) F1 All seasons are quieter, ride softer and transmit much less from the road.
4) Michelin PS2s handle much better and provide much more feedback.
(granted, 3&4 are not really a surprise).
5) THE LIMITED RIMS ARE SO MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN THAN SRT RIMS.
6) The F1 tread pattern looks good....
7) Need centercaps.....
8) Did I mention THE LIMITED RIMS ARE SO MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN THAN SRT RIMS.

Re: Limited wheels on SRT with Goodyear F1 All Seasons
Thanks. I have the regular F1's (purchased within the past 4 months) and the rears were made in Germany and the fronts in China. I've been assured by my local Goodyear store that they are all the same quality as long as they say Goodyear on the side.

Yes, the SRT wheels are Ronal "Made in Poland" as well...funny related story...a guy that works for me is a true Porschephile and a real fan of German cars in general...he has owned several 911's (one of which an older 911s), a 914 and a couple of years ago bought a new 2005 Boxster. He was completely unaware of the Crossfire and its lineage to Mercedes and I don't think he believed me until he did some indiependent researh. He was impressed with my 04 Xfire and even more so with the SRT-6. He was looking at wheels for his Boxster and was quite suprised to learn that his Boxster wheels were Ronal manufactured....even more suprised when he learned the Xfires wheels were Ronals too....kind of funny.
