Default rotors

I just ordered posi-quiet pads for my car yesterday, and probably need to swap for new rotors, since they look pretty well worn for 27k miles I'm not impressed with the oem rotors.

What have you guys had experience with, and how well have they held up?

mines at 50K, and the rotors are fine. ill probably change all four in the spring though, just as part of my 50K mile 'tune-up' --

$185 for two rotors , plated, slotted and dimpled. and wheel pad sensors are $4 each

I got the whole thing for $209 and free shipping.

I can guarantee the oem rotors are not treated so if you drive hard you might want these which are heat treated to below 300 derees. seems the get less cracking and will last well into 100k miles

just ordered a set of Goodridge lines, can't wait to see what the whole system will feel like when completed.

well I finished installing new slotted and dimpled rotors with the Ceramic quite stop pads.

the break in was simple and they stop great. but I have noticed a little buzzing sound durring hard braking, kinda like a sizzle. I wonder if this new sound is from the slots passing the pad surface?

also the ceramics need about two good stops before they get working. slight fade on the first two stops, afterwards they don't show any fade under repeated hard braking from 80-10mph.

if I had to do it again I would of went with OEM rotors non slotted.

yeah stick with the OEM non-slotted rotors, if you want holes in your rotors I suggest getting rotors with cast in holes not drilled holes, since the drilled hole has a tendancy to crack because the grain structure is broken by drilling.

I know the pros & cons, but why OEM non-slotted?
What's your reasoning behind that?

for the street OEM non slotted is fine, the smoother finish won't make any swooshing noises when you apply brakes, and they stop just as good as the slotted. And the OEM style is probably cheaper to prduce. maybe the slotted rotors aren't broken in fully, they seem to be making less (air-swoosh noise), yes that's a technical term. lol

I do like the ceramic pads, terrific fade resistance, I did 8 sets of 80-10 mph stops and only detected minimal fading on the 8th stop, the pads where stinking from the heat but they kept on braking very nicely.
