replacing tie rod ends??
replacing tie rod ends??
has anyone done this themselves yet? also does anyone one know the cheapest place to get them. my chrysler dealer wants $400+ just for the parts. or i was wondering if the 2004 slk mercedes would work they are much cheaper?? i will do the work myself so all i need is to find a better deal on them.

It is a clicking noise.
So my question is what nut needs to be tightened to cure this?

just above the steering box there is a knuckle that is clamped on to the steering box the knuckle is at the end of the steering column. it basically has a pinch bolt and it is a tight area to get to but it can be done. put a wrench on one end and a socket on the other and give it a turn this might take care of your proplem. there are a few other post with pictures on here search "steering"
