Default Boot for shock?

I just took delivery of a KONI shock set courtesy of Rob at Needswings. From memory, the stock shocks have a plastic cover over the exposed piston. The KONI's come without. I suspect that the intent is to use the old sleeves (and other parts) on the new shocks. Would there be any advantage/disadvantage to putting on a rubber boot instead of the sleeve? Would condensation be an issue?

Yes, if you read the install instructions it says to re-use the factory boot..... if you wanted to use a rubber boot you would have to find one to fit the shock and not rub the springs.... I would just use the factory one...in fact I did....

When I installed mine I didn't have the factory shocks. I called Koni and they told me to just run without them as they are not needed.
