No mention of it in the manuals that I see.
I bled mine in the normal fashion, no problemo.

Likewise.. just emptied the reservoir and filled with fresh.. started the old fashioned bleeding method with farthest wheel. Went from pump up stop to working great..

Yep. I knew that.

What's your point?

If they "outlawed" it then why is their spec on the container? If blue fluid does not meet DOT spec then it's not DOT 4 fluid.

It can meet DOT performance specs-and still NOT be Ok'd for highway use. When this came up last year, I mentioned it to a firefighter buddy and a local LEO-the reason for the blue color being an issue is:

after a collision, and the poor responders have to clean up the mess, the color-coding/restrictions let them know, at a glance, what chemical they are dealing with. And to prevent some schmuck from "topping off" your brake fluid reservoir with windshield wiper fluid. Or the original blue coolant our cars came with.

ATE makes an Amber version of the same formula. Ate will buy back ones illegal blue stuff and/or replace it with the amber stuff, same specs.

The interweb is a wonderful thing! One can find damned near anything they need!
