Duplicolor Carbon Black - most economic choice for refinishing a wheel
Duplicolor Carbon Black - most economic choice for refinishing a wheel
I have restored my 10 year old wheel with this Carbon black product from duplicolor. No over spray issues, there is a video on YouTube showing how to use the product.
-half a can per wheel is 6 coats. So far I did one wheel and tested the product on the freeway and rain for a week. $11 a can Autozone etc
-a spray can gun $5
-battery power drill
-sanding pads $16.99
-engineer tape and pastic

The steps I'm sure you know. My wheels have chrome lips so I spent extra time sanding down the wheel so the product would stick. Sanding down the curb rash also worked well.

I have one last wheel to do. Last week I had to stop spraying the 3rd wheel and peel it off. It was super hard to get it off. It came off one small piece at the time. If you do this don't use a can that is almost empty. Also, there is a time limit to finish all the paint coats in one hour. After 1 hr. the new coat ruins the rest. After a week and the product is set, it is possible to do touch ups to repair new damage.
