Had a issue the other day with a flat tire, found later the rim was broken, in the middle, like punched up from inside. Tire was not damaged and front tire did not hit it. Felt big bump, then flat. Have ordered new rim. Have any rims failed. This is a 2005 Crossfire hardtop. Never saw anything in the road.

 

Very strange, never saw anything like that before. Are you sure the front tire/rim isn't damaged in any way? I would suggest a close inspection of the entire rim/tire on the front, as a minimum. That rear rim may not be a candidate for a repair (as I have heard of cracks being repairable). After you get the tire mounted to the new rim, you should keep a close watch for any damage to said tire (bulging/cuts) for a period of time afterwards. Good luck!

Sounds familiar.. only I did have a hole in the tire to go with it..
