This also applies to metric sizes. This means that metric wrenches will not work with Speed Bleeder even though it might have a metric sized thread. You have to use an inch wrench or SAE wrench size. The reason is that metric hex stock is not readily available at a reasonable price in this country."

So maybe this applies to the brake line hexagons as well.

Hexagonal nuts and bolts per ANSI standards have the max size across flats at the nominal size, so they are never bigger than the nominal size. Wrenches are always a bit bigger so they fit. Min and Max openings of ANSI standard 7/16" wrenches is .440"/.446".

A 11mm wrench should fit some 7/16" hex nuts, except combinations of nuts at the top of the tolerance size and using wrenches at the bottom of the tolerance size.

When dealing with Chinese nuts, bolts and wrenches all bets are off.
So this tells me that the 11 mm wrench should have worked on the flats of the Crossfire brake line connection. Now my metric wrenches in this size range are not the highest quality, since I don't have routine and/or heavy needs in this size range. But the 11 mm wrench I have definitely would not fit the hex flat. Interesting!

And when I installed the Speed Bleeder screws, the 8 mm wrench fit the hex flats! Interesting!

The SRT uses two different wrench sizes so I assume they have two different size of threads. I do not want to buy the wrong bleeders and go through that hassle.
So I sent Speed Bleeders an eMail & asked about the screws applicable to the SRT-6. I got this reply a little while ago:

Dennis,

The application chart I refer to shows SB7100, M7 x 1.0 front and SB8125LL, M8 x 1.25 rear for a CrossfireSRT-6. I can’t confirm the size for the SLK32 AMG. It is not evenlisted on the chart that I refer to.

Thanks,

Whitney

Hope this helps.

I put together a small file that lists the Speed Bleeder Screws (SpeedBleeder.com) for the Crossfire models. I know the listing for the NA Crossfire is correct because I just installed those. And the screws listed for the SRT-6 were provided to me today via eMail from Speed Bleeder Products, Inc. (Note: I mistakenly switched the front disc application on the NA & SRT-6 in my original post. This graphic is now correct.)

Later,

Thanks for the input, I'll put this in the Index of Problems.
I sent them an email too but I have not heard back from them yet.

You were too quick for me. I got the front disc screws backwards in my original post. I've corrected it since. But your quoted reply has the incorrect picture.

Sorry about that.

That explains why the SRT bleed screws used two sizes of wrenches when I changed the fluid some years back.

Sorry for the late reply, I used SB7100S M7 x 1.0 for the front SRT6 calipers, SB8125L M8 x 1.25 for the rear. I installed them a few years ago, no problems. Dave, I have a pair of fronts for you, sorry no rears.

Later,
Great chart. Thanks for the clarification. Will order a set for my NA for it's Spring brake fluid exchange. I'll contact Speed Bleeder for the correct size for the clutch slave.

So we now know that the shorter speed bleeder screw (SB7100S; M7 x 1.0 x 30.22) will also work on the SRT-6 front calipers & the bleeder screw for the front on the NA will work on the SRT-6 rear calipers. I would imagine that the NA model could use the same bleeder screw front & back application; either SB8125L or SB8125LL. Only differences are typically 3-6 mm in length, one way or the other..
