Default Wheel Offset Compatibility

Our Stock rim offset is 35mm and I had been thinking of buying a 19 and 20's for my XFIREX. My question is : If the offset is below or higher than 35mm, is there a way to compensate the difference?

You could use wheel spacers to move the wheel out from the brake rotors but this might cause the tires to rub on the outside. Be very careful and measure correctly. Try the wheels on the car and check for the wheels rubbing before you mount the tires, front and rear, then mount the tires and check for outside rubbing on the tires. Turn the fronts to max in both directions and check also for up and down on the suspension in both directions. Better yet, stay with stock wheels. BIG RON

Thanks for your reply Big Ron.

I was just wondering why some XF members here use wheel spacers 10mm front and 12mm rear in their stock rims. Is that the allowance we have in our wheel well in case be buy aftermarket wheels with >35mm offset?

cyril, if you can find a wheel thats 37mm all around, then you will only need a 12mm-15mm hub-centric spacer for the rear the fronts will fit perfectly without a rubbing problem and you won't need a spacer for the fronts.

i added spacers to push the wheels closer to the fender lip. i think i gives the car a more pronounce & wider stance...especially when it is lowered.

I finally found my dream wheel....a Momo Forge FXL! Does anyone of you here know a better place to get it? It looks great in the ad ( April's duPont registry issue ) with a Red Merc SL55...it looks like mine!

I don't think they carry MOMO wheels though. But thanks for your reply Andrew.
