here are some photos of the SRT6 front brakes on the car... I'm still seasoning the rotors and have not bedded the pads yet...

HDDP, Thank you for doing all the leg work for us. I may wait a bit and try to find some of the parts cheaper and do it too.
Not that the prices are that bad I just like the challenge.
How does it feel for street driving? Is it a noticeable difference?
I have no track time yet. Hopefully this spring.

I'm still seasoning the rotors and have not bedded the pads yet, it's only been a few days since the install... Give me another week to season the rotors and then replace the pads with Porterfields, then bed the pads and take it to the track... I know where my braking points are on each turn of all the tracks in So. Cal. I'll see if I can dive-in faster and brake later... And post the results...

You won't be able to find a system cheaper unless you rape some parts from a totaled SRT6 or other MB cars that share the same parts... There are 6 MB cars that use the exact front calipers, rotors and adapters as the SRT6... If you purchase the parts from MB, your costs will be 32% higher than purchasing through DC...

And you really don't need to spend the $$$ if you're just driving the car on the street... The OEM brakes are terrific for daily driving...

Lookin' great, HDDP! I can't wait to see how they perform on the track. One more question fro you: Did you happen to weigh the SRT-6 parts before you installed them? I would be curious to see how much more the SRT-6 parts weigh than the stock ones. My concern is that the increase in un-sprung weight might cause the front end to feel a bit unsettled because its overloading the spring/shock combo. I dunno, it might not amount to anything at all but you never know...

I love the way the new calipers/rotors fill in the front wheel though. It makes the stock units look positively anemic by comparison. I think a few years down the line, this is going to be one of those "must have" mods for us base/limited owners. I know it's on my short list.

Bobs:
I did the "hold it in your hand" weighing method. And yes, the SRT6 front rotors are probably 10 lbs heavier and the caliper is maybe 2 lbs more...

Look how silly small the OEM rear rotors look now... That's why I was originally concerned about bias... They're barely visible... I like your anemic comment, a perfect term for it...

I'll let you know how they work in the next few weeks... I'm still breaking them in... and will have to change the pads once I season the rotors... I'm going back to the Porterfields if they make them for this size...

Now that I know the swap-out works properly, I have another set of rotors that I'm going to have milled and slotted. And I already ordered the rear SRT6 set-up and should take delivery in the next few weeks...

Considering the Brembo Big Brake kit is $3,500 +/- This was only $1,200 for the fronts and should be only $800 for the rears... Not a bad way to upgrade the brakes IMO...

PS: I have a set of Limited calipers and rotors for sale... LOL Cheap !!!

I didn't misunderstand your post. If you don't drill before testing you will temper the steel and you will not be able to drill. That's what I was told by the guys that do the rotors! Your welcome anyway A-H.

Here are the parts from Mercedes Benz
1) 0004202515 Brake Anchor $213.00
1) 0004202415 Brake Anchor $213.00

Back to the subject, those PN's are incorrect. A big giveaway is there is a left and right side PN.
http://www.mbwholesaleparts.com/fmpc...assisShort=170

Choose a category then change Select Baumuster to one of the following:
170.447 for 1996 SLK 230K
170.449 for 2000 SLK 230K
170.465 for 2000 SLK 320
170.466 for 2001 SLK 32K

For base or limited, I'd select 170.465
For the SRT-6 I'd select 170.466

By the way, The rotors and calipers are the same on my SLK32/(C32) and SRT-6.

Hey thanks for that link, maybe you can clear up some mis-information. I understand that the SRT6 and SLK32 both have the same rotors and calipers, but Brembo's technical dimentions says the C32 is a larger rotor and it caliper is visually different than the srt6/slk32.

the slk32/srt6 are both; 330x46.4mm

the C32 AMG; 345x47.5mm

the C55 AMG; 345x47.5mm

so either your incorrect or the Brembo site is whacked. Also the C32 has a different rear differential which is another give away that the C32 is a beefier car.

yes those caliper are the same but what model year is that AMG C32 from? there was a recent brake update on that car where the front rotors where enlarges .42" or abouts, and it has a different caliper.

"Mercedes-AMG’s racing experience shows even more in the C32 AMG’s competition-derived braking components. The newly developed braking system is always ready to deliver outstanding stopping power. Front brake disc diameter has increased by 0.43-in. compared with the preceding C43 AMG model, providing the best possible basis for short braking distances and fade-free performance. Cross-drilled, internally vented, 13.6- x 1.2-in. brake discs are used at the front, with internally vented 11.8- x .9-in. discs at the rear.
In preliminary brake testing from 100 km/h (62.1 mph), the new C32 AMG comes to a complete stop after just 118 feet. Naturally, the standard anti-lock braking system with electronic brake force distribution, the Electronic Stability Program ESP, Brake Assist and the traction control system have been specially programmed to suit the dynamic performance of these cars. "
