What did you replace it with ?.......and why ?

 

Replaced with Hollywood type rumbling type muffler! An 83 yr old to be a kid again!

I simply replaced the muffler with a Flowmaster Super44. Great sound. Not as ricey as the Magnaflow. Deeper than the Borla, And hundreds of dollars less.
Warning,,,,it is made in China. Was made in Mexico until Covid.

 

It's an original '05 Crossfire muffler. Great quiet sound, no damage. Replaced with racy type deep sound sports muffler. I'm 83 yrs old can't find, and don't remember the name of it! $100 and I'll ship the 05' to you!

I like the sound of yours but I never heard anyone describe the Magnaflow as "ricey"
I have had the Magnaflow for 7 years and it's NOT "ricey" at all

 

I absolutely agree with Valk. Forum members that have and hear the Magnaflows have never described them as "Ricey".
I put Magnaflows on two of my Crossfires and they do not sound "Ricey".

 

What is a ricey muffler sound? When I was a lot younger we called the mufflers "Hollywoods" and they were deep throated with power like expression! On my Crossfire described it as sounding "racy". You can think of that word any way you wish, and I think it would fit!

well installing a Magnaflow is definitely not bare minimum so a Crossfire with a Magnaflow muffler is definitely not “ricey”

 

Must watch youtube video on what a ricey muffler sounds like.

 

I could not get past the second car..... Deep in my bad bad place, I wished those mufflers were the targets of those POS's who steal cats (no, NOT the live animal cats).....

Those sure were not deep and throaty as the old "Hollywood" mufflers of the '50's were!

I had a pair of these glass packs on my 71 Firebird Formula 400 4 speed and boy do I miss the rumble and roar sounds that car had.
