I don't know about other car makers' warranties, but I have been extremely happy with the ones from Chrysler; I have them on all three of my cars. Aftermarket or third party warranties are a PITA for the repair shops and car owners. There's always a discussion - repair shop says something needs to be fixed/replaced; warranty company says no or that they have to send out one of their reps to take a look; it goes on and on. You would not believe what my buddy goes through with Carmax and their warranty. Once it took them 10 days to decide on whether or not they would replace a transmission; they did but then the stuck him with the rental car since it was over the time limit. Then there was a big discussion because the shop wanted to charge somebody for storage. It is a nightmare every single time he needs to have something done to his cars. Every bill I get from Chrysler is $0.00.
