The Magnum was produced on the LX platform, remember the dodge intrepid, chrysler concord & eagle vision those were LX platform cars. The LX platform was pretty good for its time, but without upgrading as with everything its become a bit outdated.
The new Challenger is to be produced on the same platform as the chrysler 300 which is also the same platform as the charger. The magnum was a pretty hot looking wagon, it just never caught on enough to sell in decent numbers. hope this answered your question.
