When detaling my car I always clean my exhaust tips with Eagle One's chrome polish. However after just a few days of driving there is always a hazy gray film on the tips. It looks as if it has dripped out of the exhaust and dried. I know these cars have commonly dirty tail pipes (when I bought mine used they were black with sludge). However it bothers me having to wipe out the exhaust two days after I cleaned them.

Does anyone else have this problem, where the sludge in the exhaust occurs frequently? My one thought is that I might need to change the fuel filter?
