Default Re: Our new Intake Manifold Gaskets

tricks for installing...

w/out phenolics....

get a can of 3m super 77 aerosol spray adheasive

manifold off the car and on the bench

make sure gasket mating surface is clean and lay manifold upside down on the bench

figure out which side of gasket goes to the mani and lay it up on a sheet of scrap cardboard

spray gasket with a light/moderate coat of the super 77 and wait for it to tack (i want to say 30 seconds but read the can).

gently set it onto manifold lined up and centered, start at the center port and press againt manifold with your fingers working outwards.

once gasket is lined up properly let it dry for a few minutes

tilt mani onto its side, put bolts back in, reinstall onto car

zero torque the manifold and then slowly torque outwards from the center, were going for ***edited, brian found the oem torque specs for us, 7 ft/lbs*** (7 ft/lbs is not enough in my opinion, im calling for 15 ft/lbs) as the s/c threads are aluminum and we dont want to pull them out. decently tight with a 3/8 wratched should be sufficient. dont get out a breaker bar and go crazy.
