The risk is not great but the cost of an accident would be too high and that salt would start chewing away at the undersides of the car. My insurance is for leisure and low mileage. On ice or snow this car would be a handful like my wifes old '66 Mustang was, play it safe.
I keep full insurance all year round. I donot drive the car in snow or in icy conditions. However on a bright sunny winters day if the roads are dry I will take it out for a run. I just can't stand seeing it sit in the garage week after week. Damn that drives me to drink
