Definitely add weight to the trunk, as was posted above, it makes a huge difference.

If you have all season tires you should be ok....if not, you could be in some trouble if you see more than a couple inches of snow.

Above all else...remember, momentum is your friend. Try to time the lights so you can keep moving.

If you do find yourself in some deeper snow......turn off the ESP when you are starting out.....it'll just fight you and put you in a ditch. Once you are moving....turn it back on.
