you can drive yourself crazy with this stuff
I'm not crazy about a resale hit, obviously.
But I'm with the guys who say enjoy the car you have. The first Vette was a six cylinder, and it's a collector item now.
The late 70's early/mid 80's Vettes were dogs in terms of performance, barely qualified as sports cars, but guys are buying/restoring/driving them.
On the other hand, the first BMW Z3's were 4 cylinders, and I believe their owners took a big hit when the 6 cylinders came out.
I'm hoping more for the last generation 300ZX model...sold both Turbos and non Turbos, and sold lots of both.
Current Mazda RX8, the auto has about 40 or so hp less than the stick.
Lots of reviewers prefer the normally aspirated Mini Cooper over the blown S.
Who knows what the new Crossfire will be like. It's a sure bet they're not just going to swap out the engine dollar for dollar. They'll probably have to sweat to try to get it on the market for $40K.
IF that's the case, folks who want the Crossfire style may actually be willing to pay leveled prices for the less expensive current cars.
Who knows?
