Man, I really appreciate all of the great advice. It sounds like small claims court is the way to go. Palmer, if I went out and asked a girl to stop keying my car do you really think that would matter and the situation wouldn't escalate from there? I think if she is crazy enough to key my entire car, it might make the situation worse if she was confronted. And the worst part is I did what police officers have always told the public to do, get a description of her and her car. And now after following the police way for citizens, they are telling me it might be my word against hers. It just seems like a no win situation for the victim.


I think I will file a claim with my insurance and then let them take her butt to court to get the money back. I will press charges as well, because it is a felony in Nebraska if the cost is more than $1,500. My estimate was actually $2,200, not including the rental car I would need to get. I really hope my car gets back to its normal beautiful look. I never thought I could feel trashy in a 36,000 dollar car but when it has key marks all the way across it you actually do.
