Your bringing back old memories for me.
I owned a Fiat 850 Spyder during the 1973 gas crisis. If I recall correctly I think I was getting somewhere in the neighborhood of around 35 mph highway.
And before the gas crisis of '73, I could fill the tank up for something like $4 bucks.
The problem was that the car would rot out right before your very eyes.
The car started pulling to the left, so I took it to a shop, and when the mechanic called me over to the lift, he showed me where the wheelwell was starting to separate from the frame due to rust/rot.
He then took his finger and started pushing holes thru the undercarriage.
Two days later driving I'm with a lady friend, and she accidently pushes her foot thru the passenger floor board.
Funny thing was I loved that car.
It's great when your young and don't know any better...
