I'm guessing that my mechanic checked the battery, but I'm not sure. The fact that all the lights on the dash come on and the engine seems to crank normally led me to believe the battery was not the problem. I was driving at night when this happened, and the headlights were working fine also. But I'll look into the status of the battery anyway. Thanks.
