YES---If you get the "three time" cycle---this is it. BE CAREFUL---You ONLY have 10 of these cycles---30 tries TOTAL; this is it---After that the ECM "thinks" the car is being stolen and "self-destructs".

How do I know this---

Two ways---

First----I read it on MB World after my car had your problem. I TOLD the dealer and MADE them sign that they would NOT try more than 30 times INCLUDING my 6 attempts---3 on my own---3 in front of them. I not only told them; I showed them. I even printed off the MB World post.

Second---When I got a NEW ECM because the dealer BLEW the original one up by going over 30 times---Since I had in writing that they would not KILL my ECM, it was no cost to me.

MAKE IT CLEAR to the shop or dealer about this----Good luck.
