just a couple of notes about the fix posted here, when i did this project, it was easier for me to remove the 10mm bolt in the clamp with a wrench as opposed to a socket. Also, make sure you re-install your transponder ring BEFORE you try to start the car, or it will definately send you into a panic!! if you try to start th car without this ring in place, it may start the first time, but then die, or not start at all! Also, if you are repairing the key switch you already have instead of buying a new one, make sure you remove the tumblers, or your locking pin will NOT push in t release your assembly.
