Mine had a bad place in the tape when I got it...finally took it off one day and was going to replace it. It looked great without and 7 yrs later...I would never go back to tape. I was going to attach a strip of weather stripping to the underside of the top itself...but it wasn't necessary. I have did the 1200 mi run to the dragon and back in the rain...without any problems...each to their own...
