Re: Anyone in Maryland have their convertible top replaced?
$1900 - dayum !
You can get a replacement top for @ $1000 and easily replace it yourself with simple tools and the help of a friend in about 3-4 hours by following the instructions in the service manual. You might have to buy a pop-rivet tool, other than that standard tools / drill / drill bits.
2 things to remember :
1. make sure you center the top on the rear bow. ( I'm talking within 1/64" here - there is 'supposed' to be a center mark on the new top, but I couldn't find it. )
2. you will have to 're-crimp' the 4 side insulation pieces upon re-installation as they get expanded during removal.
maxcichon and I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago.
