Hey folks, I hate to do this, but I need some feedback and info on a dilemma ive had that is starting to drive me up the wall!
Ok, so ive had my car stored for almost 2 years; just been stupid busy with work. But now that things have changed for the better, I plan to get my car on the road this year, and really get to enjoy it. Only thing that is holding me back is some new rubber. with only 8900mi on the car, the 10year old PS2's are totally shot, and not safe to daily drive on. So now its tire hunting season!
I was planning to go with the Hankook v12's; a family friend runs a transport truck service center and is a hankook dealer, and I can get them at cost. I bought some hankook winters to put on my winter benz, and they are phenomenal tires. However, I have come across toyo proxes T1's and they are a very tempting deal.
Ok now finally heres my question. I searched for ages, and no one had a definite response from past experience. My srt-6 is lowered. Ive lowered it about 3/4"; notin too crazy, imo just the right amount to fill in the wheel arch gap evenly. Now heres my dilemma.. im super tempted to put on 285/30/19 in the rear, and keep the stock 225/40/18 size in the front.
Will it be worth the hassle to go with the 285/30 over the stock 255/35.. the 285/30 keeps the speed ratio almost identical.. however will rubbing occur??
Theres been tones of posts stating the 285/30's wont rub, however, what if the car is slightly lowered.?? Ive attached pics to show how low my car is. I think its a very conservative height. Nothin too crazy.
Fresh pics from 10 min ago

This was when I first lowered it. Hasn't really settled much after.
