If these OEM Bosch parts are prone to failure are there better substitutes? Or was there a bad batch of parts? Bosch has always meant high quality to me even in other areas from power tools to dishwashers. I've used their spark plugs and wiper blades and they worked great. Has anyone reported failure with the Asian variety CPS?
So far it is only known that the Bosch CPS are the ones that are reliable from the start, whereas the off brands tend to always cause problems almost immediately after installation. Almost everyone that has reported that they bought an off brand from a local parts store has had the same scenario.... the car will run fine for a day or 2 and then the same problems resurface. Also not known is how many failures could of been associated with a bad connector. It's thought that the aftermarket CPS pin-outs are not as thick as the Bosch and therefore loose contact after several cycles of heating & cooling. The only reliable factor seems to point to using only the Bosch units, since that is what originally worked from the factory!
