I've been diligently collecting the VIN#'s for the database for quite a few years, dating back to 2010 for MikeR. This is a time consuming effort, since I review every VIN# before it's added and published to this thread.
I will review the issues that were addressed concerning the legitimacy of the STR6 VIN Database for the last several years. As a result of cooper16's submission of his VIN number and Red Blaze color, his offering has been rejected based upon the color and rarity of a 2006 SRT6 model that arrived in the USA.
There are variations in the SRT6 listed below:
2005 Coupe: 1 C 3 A N 7 9 N 7 5X 000000 (The "9" is the ID for the Coupe body type)
2005 Roadster: 1 3 A N 7 5 N 7 5X 000000 ( The 1st "5" is the ID for the Roadster body type)
2006 Coupe: 1 C 3 A N 7 9 N 7 6X 000000 (The "9" is the ID for the Coupe body type)
2006 Roadster: 1 3 A N 7 5 N 7 6X 000000 ( The "5" is the ID for the Roadster body type)
The VIN# database is based upon the VIN# that is assigned to the SRT6 at the Karmann factory at the time of the initial car manufacturing process.
Any other Crossfires, altered to look like an SRT6, will not be included in the database. Listed below are a few of the NON-SRT6 VIN#'s that will be rejected:
Base Model: 1C3LN59L2 + YEAR + 000000
Limited Roadster: 1C3LN65L9 + YEAR + 000000
Limited Coupe: 1C3AN69L9 + YEAR + 000000
SE Roadster: 1C3LN55L1 + YEAR + 000000
Any errors detected in the database are corrected immediately, assuring a correct database until Chrysler decides to provide a complete and correct VIN# database.
The majority of the VIN#'s are obtained through Internet sales sites, from various dealerships throughout the USA.
I assume an owner of a Crossfire knows the difference between an SRT6 and all other models!
