Answer to your question...final writeoff on the Crossfire program...a LOSS of $125000 on EVERY crossfire made.
I had Chrysler Maserati TC's before the Crossfire.
After the Maserati program...a loss of $112000 on every TC made..I said they will never do THAT again.
The next person who says Chrysler needs a two seat car produced overseas should be DOA.
Take that as a warning PSA..FCA's new owner.
Also...the Crossfire was the LAST vehicle made by Karmann. They lost so much on the program they could not survive.
Very interesting. I would have never guessed that the car company had so much invested in the design and tooling because the xfire was based on another car that they had just stopped producing that generation of mechanicals. Even more interesting is how little dollar value has been retained out of such a large production expense.
