DIY hydraulic cylinder removal
Just wanted to report that removing the 2006 Roadster top hydraulic cylinders to have them rebuilt isn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I chose Top Hydraulics in Oregon since Klaus helps out on this forum. Been a while since I worked on cars myself. Used to be pretty handy with MG's, but at the end of my military career I became 100% VA disabled in the line of duty. It is difficult to stand very long or bend, etc. The Chrysler dealership wanted $2,000 just to remove and re-install the cylinders so I decided to do it myself. I followed Klaus Witte's DIY videos carefully and had no trouble getting the 7 cylinders out. I just took my time. Saved $2K in the process. Klaus says the rebuilt cylinders are better than new and will last 30-50 years. Thank you Klaus. The cylinders are in the mail.
