WOW! Is that bulge normal, or did it happen during detonation ?

A big day today with my 2005 Crossfire SRT6.
1. Performed the "Sticky Key" fix. Preventative maintenance. Ignition didn't show any signs off being sticky.
2. Replaced the CPS. Preventative maintenance. Car has always started first pop. &
3. Replaced all 12x spark plugs. Without any special spark plug puller tool. Now i understand why the dealership quoted so much to do the job. I don't want to do that again any time soon.
I would like to shout out a big thank you to this website and all the contributors that provided info to help me perform all the tasks listed above. Cheers.

Got em! Replaced the recent burnout, and the regular SS that I had to swap out back in 2017 when the D/S went out back then. Now both low beams are NEW SS Ultra's, and the high beams are the original Ultras from way back (about 2010???). Bright and aligned again with Ultras!!!

Weather here turned really nice this weekend. Temps approaching upper 60s. Wife & I took the Coupe out today for a cruise around Greenville County. Took a pass thru downtown Greenville. Lots of folks out enjoying the weather. Coupe got a lot of looks from passersby.

Weather here continues to be above average for time of year. We will probably hit mid-70s today (76F is the record high for today attained in 1899). Took advantage of the warm temp & dry spell to pull the discolored ***** off the OEM stereo and paint them silver with a clearcoat (***** on my stereo just discolored last month). Re-painted ***** turned out okay.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished result.

I believe it was James1549 who found he needed to use a paint that was flexible on his ***** when dry. It is a good job the radio has more than one **** or it would sound like a bit too much information.

Hi dedwards323,
I want to clean and paint my radio ***** also. I purchased a flexible vinyl silver paint. How do you get the radio ***** off? I tried pulling them off but they don't budge. I don't want to break anything. Any info on getting the radio ***** off would be appreciated. Thanks.

I got mine off by pulling on them, a bit snug but off they came.

Likewise, I just grabbed the ***** with my fingernails on two sides & pulled. I could almost get my nails under the bottom of the ***** when I pulled. Didn't want to scratch up the stereo face, so I didn't even use a plastic interior trim stick.

Likewise, I just grabbed the ***** with my fingernails on two sides & pulled. Once you remove them the 1st time, seemed much easier to remove again, if need be. (Used the multi-quote feature for the 1st time. Know now how it works.)

I didn't use a flexible paint when I re-painted the stereo *****. I used a Silver Metallic paint I had on my garage shelf - I think it was a Ford referenced color. I did clean the ***** with a "Prepsol-like" solvent; then used soap & water as a final cleaning step. Once dry, I sprayed the ***** with an adhesion promoter that I get really good results when painting plastic parts. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I then sprayed with the Silver Metallic paint. Final coat was a clearcoat for protection. Time will tell how the paint holds up.

Thanks everyone for the information on removing the radio *****. I'll give it a try.

By the way, it was a very nice day in Western PA yesterday (no snow or rain and dry roads) so I took the Crossfire out and let it stretch its' legs. Ran great and it was nice getting it out on a winter day. Not many nice days in the winter to get the Crossfire out.

Wow! Record high temperature for today in Austin, TX: 91 deg F. It was a nice 76 deg when we went for a drive in the Crossfire with the top down to watch the sunset.

Not sure what this portends for our summer. Probably a long string of 100+ deg days......

My 05 has 102k and the steering was getting marginal. Checked wheel bearing play on a vertical axis, sure enough, time for new Timken bearings and the race. In adfition, replaced the center steering arm with oem shaft. Steering is now as good as ever.

Replaced the hood strut on my 05 Roadster. Easy Peasy. Took a whole 5 minutes to remove and replace it.
