Any high mileage Crossfires out there? I am curious of what repairs were done and how well these cars have held up with high mileage. I haven't heard much on the reliability of the 3.2L Mercedes-Benz engine.

You can do a search. This has been covered, but there's one here with over 150,000 miles that looks and runs like new.

Mine - 44K on an '05 coupe

Mom's - 75K on an '04 roadster

Neither has had anything other than normal maintenance.

at around 20k i had to have a steering shaft or something replaced under warranty. Also both bottom seat heaters failed. The passenger around 15k and driver around 30k.

Only problems... All fixed under warranty except headliner. Then I just did the usual oil changes and replaced the tires.

1. AC was acting wierd... tuning on/off on its own.
2. Headlights fogged up and replaced.
3. Ignition key was sticky--replaced lock mechanism
4. headliner fell down (common problem- replaced for 120 dollars)
5. AC flap was making a racket--major fix taking apart dash- thank god warranty!
6. Door handles replaced because they were seperating (common problem).

Now I have a water leak on the passenger side window. Just had window adjusted. I may have to buy a new molding.

I think this is it. It actually spent more time at the dealer because everytime they touched it they broke something else and I had to keep bringing it back.

High mileage? what about low mileage. Mine's an '04 with 12,100 miles (20,100 km)
Oil and filter has been changed 8 times. (extended warranty)
Washed twice a year, whether it needed it or not.
Polished once.
Problems .... none.

When did you purchase the car? and do you know of any repairs before you bought it?

Ours came with the add-on extended service pack. Every 1/16 of a quarter of 1400 miles we get credit for 200 miles. The odometer reverses quite nicely. A lot of fun to watch if your in drive at 70 mph.

I think its time to bring this thread back to life. Our cars are older and some of them must be getting higher miles by now.
My car has 101220 engine runs great (knock on wood)
Anyone got me beat ???

I'm at 108,000 now. I've resoldered the RCM twice, had the "Sticky Key" issue, replaced the steering stabilizer 3 or 4 times (and it's due again), idler pulley, belt tensioner, drive belt (twice), and front brake pads. I did plugs, pliug wires and fuel filter at around 107,000 to get the misfire codes to stop lighting the CEL.

In the way of general upkeep, it's had the coolant flushed, trans fluid changed, differential fluid changed and a zillion oil changes.

I've seen some with over 160 and 200 K on the odometer. There's no reason these engines can't go 2 to 300 K miles or more if you maintain them. It's all the other "stuff" on or around the engine you'll have to replace, just like any car. My 2000 Bonneville has 165K miles on it and it still runs great. I'd say most engines should do 200K plus no problem if you change the oil regularly. My friends 86 325 BMW is up over 330K miles now. He just change the clutch this year. Yes, that's right, over 320K on the original clutch. Engine is fine, he's now having to begin replacing a bunch more items though just to keep it on the road.

BTW - My 2004 Crossfire only has 33K on it right now.
