Crossfire aftermarket Headlights anyone?
Re: Crossfire aftermarket Headlights anyone?
Interesting the timing of this thread being bumped. I just wrote to DEPO the other day, asking if they'd be interested. So far the only reply is that they do not offer them for Crossfire. Perhaps if several people would inquire. I know that they stopped making them for Dodge Neon a while back, and that a vendor went in and got them to restart production by ordering something like 20-25 sets. Even if it took 2x or 3x that number, for less than $200 a pair, for admittedly knock-off, but passible lamps, that seems doable, even from this community.

Re: Crossfire aftermarket Headlights anyone?
I sent a follow up message to them. I believe they will see limited market for entire new headlamps, especially given the complexity of our originals. However, making new clear plastic lenses is well within their purview, and I have asked for that, as an alternative to the entire lamp. I realize many owners deal with broken tabs, but there are several different fixes for that. Very few people deal with completely destroyed lamps. Most deal with ruined lenses. At any rate, I have contacted them again, and we'll see where it goes.

New lenses may possibly be made flat with the existing lens partially cut off.
Re: Crossfire aftermarket Headlights anyone?
Moulding a new lens would be much cheaper. The mould is simple and cheapish to make, the labour, machine time and plastic are not cheap though. Fitting a new lens would be time consuming to do it neatly.

Watch eBay regularly
2 years ago I purchased a brand new pair
$400 for the pair. Seller didn’t know what he had in his possession.
they do exist you just need to watch and wait.
or
start collecting used spares and polishing the lenses back to clear
I now have 5 spares on the shelf.
Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll ever see an aftermarket replacement. The cost would be close to OEM and we all balk at the price of used original units.
But there is always hope and hope springs eternal
Its Pre-Friday today. Let’s all go out for a spin around our towns and cities

We have now reached US$5.70/US gal.approx. in the Toronto area.
It is a good job healthcare is basically free, my ruptured appendix operation and four night stay in the hospital cost me $45 for the ambulance ride, cheaper than a taxi so I should not complain.

Re: Crossfire aftermarket Headlights anyone?
I hope your fabrication skills are top notch. I don’t thing they were ever commercially available.
Re: Crossfire aftermarket Headlights anyone?
Peter, unless my memory is playing tricks on me, I do recall them being available, although I never saw any in person. It was 10+ years ago and they were quite expensive, I think $1600 US which was more than twice the price of the OEM at the time, hence the reason I did not buy them.
