Continental belts

Does anyone have any experience with Continental Elite belts? Just had my SRT6 inspected recently, noticed my belt is frayed and upon closer inspection found a small wrench down amongst the moving pulleys wheels etc. I assume this happened during inspection as it wasn't metric and it wasn't mine. Anyway, I need a new belt and found the Conti Elite at Rock Auto for $44 with shipping and wondered if it was decent. They come from Romania? but Gates comes from China, sooo. Any input would be appreciated.

Do you really want to quieten your car?:D

Continental

No experience but Continental is the OE supplier to Mercedes, the Elite belt seams similar to the Goodyear Gatorback.

The Elite worked fine for me. As I recall Goodyear dropped the "Gatorback" name in early 2015. Elite is the replacement name.

Thanks for the input and if I have any problems I'll let the forum know.

Hi JEFASOLD,
finally did you buy the Continental belt? Would you recommend the elite belt? Are you running stacked pulleys with the belt (stock size)?

Thanks

Yes, yes and yes. I did get the belt and it seems to be of a good quality and a bit quieter and I'm running a 181 crank pulley (Eurocharged) with a machined to 70mm stock SC pulley. with a modified Tighed 1 pulley setup.

Re: Continental belts

Sounds good! Thanks for your feedback.

I was suspecting more belt slippage due to the profile design but it seems to work fine.

Re: Continental belts

Belt slippage is the reason I am using a modified version of Tighed1's belt wrap system.
