Anybody who knows about a/c can this be salvaged?

Hi!

So my a/c stopped working out of nowhere as some of you might know cause I asked how to take out the resistor and the blower. Said and done...Immediately while removing I noticed the red cable from the resistor was just dangling (hence blower wouldn't engage). As I took it out and home I noticed that there isn't a piece the "red" cable would plug into (see picture). Then I noticed a little metal front piece, which was probably attached to the blower for the red cable to plug into was laying off to the side (picture).
So I guess my question would be what does the red cord usually plug into? And do you think this can be fixed somehow? Could I just tape the red cable somewhere on the blower to make it contact? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try the pictures again so we can see what you are describing.

If this is the red wire you are talking about, then one end connects to the resistor module, the other end to the fan motor :

So sorry, my phone wasn't able to handle uploading the photos. So I am doing it from my laptop now. Once again, I do not see a piece to plug the red cable into. I am also posting pictures of the blue cable and how that one is perfectly plugged in.
That little piece of my table, I assume is normally attached to the blower, for the red cable to plug into!

The loose tab in picture #3 is off the blower motor, that's where the red wire should connect.
Perhaps you can study the motor and see if it can be re-soldered to it ?
( it would be on the opposite brush holder from the blue one )

I looked into it last night. I feel like I might need to get a new unit. I see where it would attach but most likely will need a new blower. I think they aren't too expensive either and at least I'd have the piece of mind! Thanks for your help.

No problem, glad to help, and I agree that a new blower is probably your best bet.
