'05 Red Roadster Limited or '05 Graphite SRT-6 Coupe?
'05 Red Roadster Limited or '05 Graphite SRT-6 Coupe?
Hello,
I just joined the forum and am on the lookout for my 1st Crossfire. I have an opportunity to choose between 2 cars at the moment.
1.) '05 Blazing Red Roadster Limited w/ the Vanilla two-toned interior - Very Sharp! 54,000miles
2.) '05 SRT-6 Coupe Graphite Metallic 67,000miles
Close in price...clean cars...having a hard time deciding. I love the red w/ the interior but everyone that owns an SRT-6, swears by them. So, I just wanted a few opinions from all of you - those in the know!
My ultimate would be the Red Roadster SRT-6 but I've only found one & it was more than I wanted to spend. Does anyone know exactly how many were imported?
Thank you for anyone reading this & especially those that respond!

Re: '05 Red Roadster Limited or '05 Graphite SRT-6 Coupe?
Because the SRT6 in question is a coupe.
My order of preference :
1. SRT6 Roadster
2. SRT6 Coupe
3. NA Roadster
4. NA Coupe
( At the time I got my NA Roadster, I didn't know such a thing as an SRT6 existed, or I would have waited until I found one.
I LIKE my roadster, so have never changed )

I would prefer the ragtop.
But the SRT coupe is a beast I'll never regret buying.
I bought the NA ragtop over the SRT because I wanted a stick shifter.
But auto to auto, I would go SRT6.
I owned NA coupes & a Ragtop
I've owner SRT's in both versions.
Best overall comb for me is the SRT convertible 1st. SRT coupe 2ns, NA Ragtop 3rd, Na Coupe last.
A few years from now, you will appreciate the uniqueness of the SRT and it will still be a blast to drive. Every time you think of getting rid of it, push a bit on the gas,,,; case closed.

have you looked at the Carfax on them?
if i was making the choice
Manual 6 speed ?
I prefer the Graphite, my sister "WANTS" RED. I avoid owning Red vehicles stopped at about the fifth one due to accidents. (none of which were my fault)
Coupe over roadster, structural rigidity over the top that will need replaced eventually and is unusable most of the year in Ill-and-nauseous, you know that state right next to Misery.

Thank you so much Franc & Xfire...for detailing exactly why you prefer the SRT-6.
I was leaning in that direction, just overwhelmed by the sharpness of the Limited's color combo.
I'm going to try to find a Blazing Red SRT-6, which I have yet to come across.
I had to look up NA...kept trying to figure it out to no avail.
NA = Naturally Aspirated (base or limited model)
SC = Super-Charged (SRT-6 model)
Thanks again

Re: '05 Red Roadster Limited or '05 Graphite SRT-6 Coupe?
Nunyadum it's not a manual 6 speed unfortunately, which is what I'm going to hold out for.
As far as Red goes, love the color & as a bonus...you can always find your car in a parking lot.
I live in South FL. - 2 Seasons...Hot & Hotter. Although we went through a cold front last week in the 60's at night & 70's during the day.
My only problem with a Roadster is will I ever really take the top down because when the temps are in the 90's or 100's here, air-conditioning is my best friend not the outdoors.

Re: '05 Red Roadster Limited or '05 Graphite SRT-6 Coupe?
SRT Roadsters and Coupes came in Graphite, Black, Aero Blue and Silver Saphirre Blue and with an automatic transmission. Most are 05's with a few 06s around.
If you want red, or a manual transmission, you must go with a Limited or SE
Here is how it all works:
The 04s were all what would be known in 2005 as "Limited Coupes". Then, in 2005, the "2004 Crosssfire Coupe" became the "Limited Coupe" and the Base Coupe was offered; they also introduced the Base and Limited Roadsters and the SRT Coupes and Roadsters.
The Limiteds came in Coupes and Roasters in Graphite, Black, Aero Blue, Silver Saphirre Blue, Red, Yellos, , and Alabaster (White). (Some 07/08s were Oyster Gold and a few were Silver.) (In 06, the Graphite was replaced with a Midnight -Blue-like color but I can't remember the name of it).
The Base cars came in Coupes and Roadsters in all Black (inside and out), manual transmisison and had no: high power audio, rear speakers, fog/driving lights, cabin filter, garage door opener, tire pressure monitor, power seats, (seats are manual and cloth), no chrome or satin trim, etc.
The SE is a Base model Roadster with Red Paint, fancy wheels and an optional automatic.
The Base/SE seats are the most comfortable seats the car came with, and can be set about 1 1/2 inch lower if you like because there are no mechanisms or motors under them.
In my sigline, the car on the left and middle are Limiteds. The one on the right is an SE.
I like manuals and red cars - but the Graphite SRT Coupe is one beautiful car.

I agree. That red makes for a beautiful car especially with that interior. But the performance of an SRT6 is kinda astounding. The NA is far from that. They are vastly different cars.
Which is better depends upon what you value and, maybe, who you need to be able to outrun given it is South Florida.

DAMN! YES! Now why could I not think of that.
(But seriously, when I see Lisa's car every fall, it looks more like a "Midnight Blue" to me - but I'm color-vision impaired....)
