here are many ways. My first thought is to run the wires through the dash over to the light control fuses. Using Tap-a-fuse, branch off the dash light fuse. I would have went with the lighted as well but I didn't see green listed to match the dash lights.

If space is an issue, you can go with this item:

The radio has a harness wire that becomes live when the ignition switch is turn on, you can always tap into it or I think there is another wire that becomes live when the lights go on.

possibly a blue wire if the color code hasn't changed. Power antenna feed.

(way back years ago I hooked up a brand new (actually had instructions for once.) Pioneer car stereo for a guy.

(long rambling story deleted)

Long story short I had fun with messing with that guys head making him wonder if I knew what I was doing. (took a bit to find the accessory power wire section.)

I have that same lighted shift ****. I found the shortest and easiest connection was to the lighter socket.

I have the same shift **** but without the light. When I shift in second and forth I hit the center console. I still can get into gear but it's annoying. Do you guys have that problem. I sent a message to the company and they told me shave off the plastic part under the boot that comes in contact with the center console. Your feedback on this would be very appreaciated.

What brand is your shift ****. I got mine from I.C.T. haven't finished installing it yet. Have you tried loosening the collar and move the shift **** up just enough to clear hitting on the console

yeah it's the same ****, same company. there's no collar on mine. It's 3 allen screws. I could move it up but I prefer it as low as it can go.

I have an idea how you can achieve what you want, keep the **** where you want it and lower the car.

Haha funny. Honestly it's not any shorter than stock. It's about the same height.

Thanks for everyone's help and advice on electrical connection of my new lighted shift ****. I ended up splicing into the driver's side window wiring which is only hot when ignition is on. The green wire with yellow stripe = hot brown wire = ground
The wire harness for the windows ( left/right ) run right in front of the shift lever in the console. splicing in is a breeze. the light is in shifter is not visible in daylight which I like. This is a very high quality product from I.C.T. but pricey.
I am having no trouble with the shift **** hitting the console no matter what gear I use. In fact shifting seems easier than the stock **** because of the weight and shape that fits your hand. Especially reverse !!!
2007 limited roadster.

The shifter is a 100 times better than the oem one. The stock shifter is absolute ****. It's one of the first mods that I would recommand. I don't know why I am hitting the console in mine. I took it off not recently (center console). I will wiggle it around.

Have you considered the fact that the end of the OEM **** is smaller in diameter than the one you are trying to fit?

of course. I even wrote to ICT and told them to fix their design LOL. They sent me a video instructing me to shave a bit plastic off that bottom part lol.
