Default Oil Change and O-Rings

I didn't change the #4 O-Ring on the oil filter assembly today and I never have in all the years I have had a Crossfire
I read tonight that the extra O-Ring that comes with our oil filters isn't an extra O-Ring
It goes in place #4 on our oil filter assembly....did anyone else here know that ?

Never did that last one either. Will look next time I change the oil. Was it hard to remove the part to access that #4 "O" ring?

It has been raised here before, I'll see if I can find the particular post.
It took a few minutes but here is one of the posts that mentions where the "spare" o-ring goes.

Well, that thread answered one of my questions. The oil filter shaft to cap is a screwed connection. The shaft just unscrews from the cap.

My Graphite had 116,000 on it when it was lost. I'd owned the car since 44,000 and never changed that o-ring.

Apparently not a crisis item. But I think I'll change it next time....

(Yea, I knew about it, I remember reading about it some time ago...........)

I didn't remove it and never intend to remove it because there is a risk of breaking the stem when removing it from what I have read
