Default Should I buy this SRT-6? Kind of iffy about it....

Might be getting back into another Crossfire SRT-6... Car supposedly has a clean Autocheck report. But I would like to run a CarFax on it too.
Please and Thank You!
Edit: Ran carfax, was good.

See if it's listed on Cargurus, they often have the Carfax included.

Well I got a CarFax on it. Everything looked good on it. But found out it still had a Lein on the title via CarFax. Seems odd for a 13 year old car that is worth less then $10k

As ZERACER said, don't let a technical owner lapse (or CARFAX for that matter), shy you away from a possible decent ride.

Well it said as of October 2018 it had a Lein on it. But it could be off. I just like buying cars when the owner has the title in hand. Makes things a little easier.

Looking into buying a Crossfire SRT6. Need advice if it's a good deal.

Details: 77k miles. Aero blue. Drove great. Intercooler pump had been replaced. Ignition key was sticky. Missing fender liner in front wheel. Missing grille piece on lower grille by foglamps. Clear coat fading a tad on hood. Plastic pieces broken in rear hatch area due to another previous owner installing a rear backup camera. And broke/cracked the hatch plastic pieces. Hood doesn't stay up needs new shock. PS pump line seeping. Valve cover gasket seeping. Little curb rash here and there on wheels. Knicks and dings on exterior, nothing crazy. Brakes looked great. Newer battery. Newer tires with lots of tread.

I am having second thoughts after seeing it in person and seeing the issues. I thought the value was going up on these cars???

how much would you pay?

4drturbo,

Asking prices are all over the map. Generally speaking, as the mileage goes up, the price goes down. Obviously a "clean" titled car has more value then a salvage/rebuilt titled car.

Here's some links to current asking priced SRT6s nationwide:

https://www.carfax.com/Used-Chrysler...ire-SRT6_t2381

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...sModified=true

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...&firstRecord=0

Obviously buying one that has some documented maintenance history is a plus besides having a clean title. These cars are 13/14 years old and most have changed hands more than once. A one owner, clean title with maintenance history is an ideal candidate but don't shy away from multiple owners.

Good luck on your hunt.

Regards,

Need to find out what was going on. Says the car had 7 owners via Carfax. Stayed most of its life in florida. People only owned it for less then 6 months or so. Lots and lots of auctions haha

Well I could of got it for $7100. But... I backed out after I thought about it at work. Car just seemed too rough overall mechanically. I feel it was not maintained properly and could have very $$$$ issues down the road. I REALLY wanted to get it since it is a beautiful car from 10 feet away.
