Rare Crossfire Tool Kit

I saw this Crossfire tool kit and had to buy it for my Crossfire stuff collection. Besides the Chrysler part number, the packaging also had a Mercedes part number on it which is for the SLK320 tool kit. It has a 2003 date on it. Clearly the kit is very limited, and has no Torx tools, but never the less it's a factory Crossfire tool kit. The fuse remover tool is handy, and so is the tire mounting guide bolt. There are spare spots in the pouch to enable adding additional tools.

If anyone is still looking/interested in purchasing one of these tool kits there are several new ones still available on Ebay. I just bought one today.

Has anyone bought this tool kit ? is the quality worth the price ? Are there any logos on the tools or tool pouch like Chrysler or Crossfire ?? thanks for any feedback.

.

:) I really don't see much 'worth' In it as a tool kit, more like an accessory for the avid enthusiast. :)

As GG clearly stated "I really don't see much 'worth' In it as a tool kit, more like an accessory for the avid enthusiast. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...icon_smile.gif" this is the only reason for buying one.

Item details: Heavy duty dark navy blue pouch (no markings)
Two wrenches are stamped Mercedes Benz (only the larger one has MB logo)
See photo above in thread for reference

I found a properly threaded bolt and cut off the head, and use that as a "tire hanger". Otherwise I don't see anything in that kit that justifies its purchase other than the desire to collect Crossfire stuff. I did buy extra luggage a decade ago when it was still available, and have an oem bra and wind deflector.

Re: Rare Crossfire Tool Kit

This kit has never appeared on any Crossfire accessory catalog that I have seen, it does not say Crossfire on it so it is not an official tool kit for the Crossfire.
Just calling it a Crossfire kit does not make it a Crossfire kit.
It seems like a waste of money to me.
A true Crossfire part would have Crossfire printed on it and tools that fitted and start with the number A193.
Maybe I can make up a kit with suitable tools in it and sell it as a Crossfire toolkit.

Re: Rare Crossfire Tool Kit

Like most of the Crossfire, the tool kit is a carry over item from the SLK320. It is officially listed in online Chrysler parts sites and shown as #24 in the screen capture image below. It's not necessary or important for a Crossfire owner to have. I personally have found the included wheel stud guide is very helpful in mounting wheels. Many may not realize the small white tool is for removing small and large fuses. As I collect Crossfires ;), and most everything Crossfire related, and "tools", I didn't hesitate at the $28 purchase price at the time, and would most likely have paid the new price. As I feed my Crossfire habit I just tell myself I can work another month before retiring.

Isn’t there an actual Crossfire Technician Tool set though? I thought I had seen something like that before?

Here is a link to detailed information and pictures of the Crossfire Specialist tools.

There were supplemental tool kit items not shown on that site list of items, and pictures. The big one was the multiplexer cable and DRB Card. There is also the pinion yoke holder wrench, and other items that are not coming to mind right now.

Chrysler Crossfire Specialists patch given to technicians that completed the Crossfire training.
