Default The most effortless way to restore exhaust tips...

I've used this on my guns for years to remove the nastiest build-up that no gun cleaning solvent will remove and wondered what a piece cut off would do for my exhaust tips... Effortless clean & back to showroom condition. You don't need to use the whole 6" x 9" piece, just a piece of it. I probably used about a 2" x 2" piece but YMMV depending on how bad they are.. may take less, may take more.

Nevr Dull works great and available anywhere. Put a couple coats of paste wax on them and they easily wipe clean.

Common cleaners tested on 3000 miles of lead foot.
Easy Off heavy duty vs. cheap Pro Elite All Wheel cleaner.

both tips were equally blackened.
let each cleaner sit on cold tips for 5 min.
Rubbed with scrubby sponge and rinsed.

Cheap wheel cleaner worked slightest better.
Acidic wheel cleaner made tip a bit brighter.
Easy Off worked well but seems ever so dull.
I usually use Eagle One Nevr-dull wadding polish.

Break out a little piece of the Birchwood Casey after that work and rub a little and they will be gleaming! Sometimes I wonder why I even care about such things... I don't polish my own **** hole... maybe 'cause I can't see it. Love the idea though of pre-cleaning with another product and just using the Birchwood Casey to clean the last toughest areas and bring it all back to showroom condition.

Will have to get some Birchwood Casey.
Thanks!
I did use the Eagle One wadding polish afterwards.
it does add a luster that cleaner does not

Like wheels, they only gleam for a little bit before all the crap starts to build up again. My wife drives my XF most of the time as her daily driver and it has, in fact, become known as "her car". How the F did that happen? Oh well, she deserves it after all the years she was relegated to her choice of my 2005 F150 or 2002 Crown Vic (which are still running almost perfectly).
