Default v8 Mercedes engine cover

Does anyone know where I can get a v8 mercedes cover for my crossfire with the bigger air boxs. I heard the dealerships may have them. Also exactly what model of mercedes cover do I need to get. Any mods.

Any help is great

For the air intake get the SL55 intake setup. LET has them and they work great. They do mount further back so you have to make some adapter brackets. BrianBrave did an excellent write up on his upgrade. This does not answer you engine cover question though.

I bought an SL500 (V8) airbox awhile ago for my n/a coupe. There need to be slight modifications around the (if I am remembering correctly) oil filter housing.

It fits good and you can feel a difference. I used chrome intake pipes with cone filters in the engine compartment. I am going to change this soon and have air pipes go through the radiator enclosure like stock for cooler air intake.

What model year SL500 would the intake need to come off of? I wanted to make sure before I went out and bought one.

Brian,

Just wanted to let you know that both the picture you posted up of Dan Roots Xfire is actually a SLK320 engine cover/airbox...same with FP...

I want to see a picture of a V8 SL500 airbox on a crossfire... and no the SL55 set up would not work for a N/A crossfire...at least not as the actual intake...it would be dumb. its designed for the supercharged SL55....
