Default what is a CHAMBER INTAKE?, see pic

I was just looking at intakes and universal application stuff and came across this. It is a CHAMBER INTAKE. I am not sure how it works and was wondering if anyone knew. From what I read on it I think it is illegal to run on the road. I think it is for drag purposes. But it says that it is for a N/A motor.

Anyone have any knowledge about these and NOT just an opinion?

Take your pick...
Basically it looks like the air enters the filter and passes into the large cylinder where the air is stored and compressed by a spiral/screw component before being catapulted (at Wile E. Coyote speeds) into your engine
A VERY poor mans (or ricer) supercharger.

Did anybody actually read this?

Top Fuel PowerChamber is an upgrade item only for NA. It is the anxious uselessness of a power down. ???? And it can attach easily.

Furthermore, The Top Fuel PowerChamber has the effect of an upgrade of 5H.P. or more on the average.

The secret of the power and a torque rise is in Chamber of worm form, and a screw type air cleaner. The internal structure is the crystal of hydrodynamics. ???

It is filled up compressing air from an aircleaner to Chamber using air pulsation.Air with deep density is sent into Combustion Chamber like a turbo. Therefore, the upgrade which was not considered is possible until now.The functional design makes an engine room refinement more.

I don't have experience with this part, but from the part's description, it's claiming to "swirl" the air and make more power this way. Unique grammar aside, I will say that, in general, if you're looking to maximize airflow, you do not want airflow to become turbulent. You want it to be laminar, so that the flow is smooth. Swirling the air will make it turbulent, and you don't want that.

And I don't know why it would be illegal, either. Feel free to try it out.

I'm under the impression is an OVERPRICED 'turbulater' (whatever they were called) they were trying to sell a few years ago - those sheet metal swirly things (not exactly the same grammar as those websites) that you slip in your air intake pipe.

Just get a CAI. No gimmicks and proven gains.

I've seen these Tornado style intakes advertised on TV. In their demostration they use two, 2 liter soda bottles connected together at the threaded end, with one filled with water.
First they would simply turn the one filled with water upside down (like an hour glass) and let the water dribble into the bottle on the bottom.
Then they would turn it upside down again, only this time they would shake the bottles (in a circular motion) to get the liquid spinning like a mini tornado, and the top bottle would empty itself much faster.
Using this principle of hydro-dynamics, they imply that their product will spin the air much the same way to increase the amount of air passing thru your intake tubes.
Now I have no scientific evidence that this theory works or not, but common sence tells us that air starts moving pretty fast in a swirling motion of a tornado.
If there was some way to actually get the air to "swirl" in the intake tubes without installing one of those "tin" blades (that actually cut down the CFM) maybe a tiny "Ram" effect could be created.
But it seems to me, any benefit would be foiled as soon as this fast moving air (turbulent or laminar) hits the air filter. So why bother?

I have seen hp gains by pulling air intakes from a large airbox, or chamber. for instance on several FI dirtbikes on the market, the Cannondale would make more hp using the stock airbox, then vs the guy who ran his bike wide open with no airfilter, kinda strange but I think it has something to deal with air velocity pulses of a single cylinder engine. so by enclosing the air intake the air pulse being created by the pistong acts like a little supercharger when the airbox is closed and sealed vs fully opened free flow throttle body.
