Powered sub... anyone have any luck w/ factory radio?
Looking for some added bump to my factory radio.
Anybody installed one of these? I'm not new to car audio, so I realize that it's not a whole heck of a lot of bass, but I want something that looks clean, adds some more bass, and would be compatible with my factory radio (I don't have the extra money right this minute to upgrade it...but will down the road)
Does our factory radio have RCA's? How would one go about installing one?
Something along the lines of:

Er, that's probably going to disappoint you in many ways. Looks. Sound. Life (prob won't last long)
And the wiring will be problematic (search the site and you will find how limited the factory head unit really is).
Your best bet is to read the sticky Best Bang for your Stereo Buck and install the cross over in the doors (EASY fix). This will reduce the mid-bass in your doors and let your sub woofers behind the seats really shine.
If you really want to go the subwoofer route, you're going to need a replacement head unit and would probably want to install a quality powered sub (like the Infinity Basslink for example).
