Default Bought car used; lock/unlock buttons on key fob do not work.

Just bought this car last week (04), the transmitter is not unlocking/locking the doors/trunk of the car; I have to manually lock/unlock the doors using the key. The key works fine when starting the car.

I tried the DIY method to program the key (in the huge thread), but it still does not program the key fob's remote to work for wireless entry. The car is detecting that I am pressing the buttons on the key fob, however, because the right blinker will flash but the lock/unlocks mechanism still won't work. I think I read in another thread I may have to replace the battery. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks all

i think you have to program the key fob, do a search for step by step procedures.

I have a 2004 Coupe that developed the opposite issue and its now at the dealership. The FOB went dead suddenly and the car would not start. Replaced tha batteries in it and now the FOB flashes fine but the car will not recognize the remote. No lock and unlock. No start. Tried the "programming" sequence..(key in ...2 presses...turn to start run) and nope...no deal. The dealer is scarin me saying they arent sure whats going on and the anti theft unti is not sending a signal to the ECU. Anyone else have anything similar? Sure would appreciate a head up if you have.
