Default Good Aftermarket Radio

If anyone is looking for a reasonable but handsome replacement for the stock Infinity (Harmon-Becker) unit, the Blaupunkt folks make some great models that require almost no modification! As you can see in the photos, the main connector interfaces are the same (middle and bottom modules) You do have to remove one double gray (located in corner position) wire to keep the mute feature de-activated. I removed the contact with wires intact in case I ever want to replace the original unit. The best feature is that it plays mp3 disks which can hold hundreds of songs each, thus reducing the quantity od CDs carried! You will also need a German car antenna adapter available at best buy or ebay.

Damn if they didn't make it so hard to find a nice head unit for these cars that looks right. the jvc kdlhx550 was a great unit but its useless finding one anywhere. I know for some aslong as it works great their happy but for us we want it to look like it belongs there. and if shes not happy with it i'm not going to be happy. I'm constantly looking for the right head unit for it. the Alpine marine unit is so slose but the color is still off.

I gave up looking for a matching silver unit. It seems if you want something new with modern features (like mp3) you have to make a sacrifice on aesthetics. If you want to wait about five years, I'm sure silver will be back. It was a fad for a few years.

Happy hunting!
