First semi chilly nights in NY. and the tpm light is on.Tire pressure is only off 1 lb. Any suggestions ? Are the sensors that sensitive? Thanks Jim

That one pound could trigger the light. I haven't seen a spec sheet on the sensor, so I don't know it's exact activation point. The light should, however, go out after the tires warm up a bit...

The service manual says the light should come on at 26 lbs or if the pressure changes by more than 1 pound between subsequent readings. I guess that might trigger it if it has lost a little over a pound while parked.

Mine went on with 28-29 psi in the tires. I suspect its set at 28 psi.

It's another of those devices that you wouldn't order if it was optional but learn to like when you've got it.

I suspect a lot of people will have their warning lights come on as it gets colder everywhere.. colder = lower PSI. And it will be worst for those who last checked their PSI on a hot day during the summer.

When my light first came on, I thought it may have been false reading but upon inspecting tires, I found that I had picked up a nail and had very slow leak. I've since had that fixed but since it's been getting colder in the morning, the light has been coming on again. Adding a couple of pounds to all four seems to have fixed that. Car still rides beautifully.

Mine has been coming on for a couple weeks for the first 10 miles or so each day. It is not THAT cold here in the mornings, (high 50's). I have one stem cap missing and that is the tire that always needs a tiny bit of air. Time for its first oil change so I will pick one up at the dealerand ask them about it.

Interesting that one tire actually needs air. I would say you might have a slow leak somewhere. Possibly, if the valve cap is missing, someone might have loosened the valve stem. I would check that.

Normally, if the monitor light is coming on in the morning, first thing, you can usually cure that by adding 1-2 lbs. in each of the four tires. Sounds like you have a different prob.
