Car kit installation help
Hi there. Quick intro: Hoping to take delivery of my 2004 Coupe today, and planning on installing a Bluetooth car kit. I have done this before on other vehicles and have searched but did not find what I was looking for.
I am going to use the pod speaker that comes with the kit so my question is simply where do I hook up the mute input? From the info I gathered searching on this forum I'm not sure if it's on the head unit or the amp. And in either case how do I get to it? Does the head unit need to be pulled or can the wiring be accessed some other way, etc?
Any help appreciated.

It is on the head unit. You can also hook up the audio so it comes from the car speakers. Go to the Becker website and for about $5 you can get a wiring harness for the inputs. I have a Motorola IHF 1000 bluetooth kit in my Crossfire it works great.
ps - Becker makes the radio. Search my old audio post for the site.

Thanks. Yup, I know it's a Becker, the problem is that it's $5 and 5 weeks to get to the backside of the world (South Africa).
I'm happy to splice wires but need the pin and/or color which I couldn't get on their website.
Thanks anyway.

I don't remember what pin is used for the phone mute wire. The plug now has no wire in that position. The audio wires go to a unused plug two pins. If I can find any info I will let you know. You will also have to program the radio for phone use. You can download the radio manual from the Becker site. You can email them to get the pin locations. I found them very helpful. Good luck.
