Nav radio in an '04

Has anyone bought a factory nav radio and put it in an '04 Crossfire? I know you need to add the GPS antenna under the dash but other than that is it plug and play? I know on some cars it requires a speedo wire to the nav unit which would not be part of the '04 wiring. Before I buy one I thought I should ask.

yes you can do it.

The radio will pug up and you may find the wire in the harness on later built models, otherwise the wire you need is a speed sense wire that can be found at the factory amp. Green with a white trace.

Thank you. Great news. Where is the factory amp?

You may already know this but I just wanted to make sure. The Factory Nav unit isn't a color screen nav unit you see in the 300's, Grand Cherokee's, etc... It's just a basic black and white small screen that gives you arrows for directions. If you already know this fine. But I just wanted to make sure you did sense most chrysler parts departments have a no return policy on electronics.

I'm aware of the unit being what it is. I currently use a Tomtom and know it is a better unit. I however do not like all the after market stuff all over the cockpit. I already have sat radio as an add on. I also like to keep my cars stock. Hence no after market radio. If it gets me to where I'm going I'll give it a whirl. I also heard the radio itself was better sounding???

The factory amp is in the passenger footwell. Just pull back the carpet remove the foam, three nuts and pull back the metal plate. Amp is on the right side.

As for the GPS antennae location... remove the panel that has the airbag shut off switch and you will find a metal ledge towards the windshield where it will fit and work well.

Thanks, I'll order the antenna at my dealer tomorrow and look forward to an install next week!
